Mum & Baby Yoga

An re-introduction to simple yoga stretching and toning, to aid your body and mind with recovery after birth.

New to yoga?

No problem!

It's not an class to push you... it's a tool to support you. We will practice a combination of yoga positions to help stretch and tone relevant muscle groups as well as learning to interact with our little ones through sensory stimulation. In the classes, I welcome all Mums and Babies from 8 weeks (completed GP Check-up) up through to Crawling.

Practicing Yoga with Babies

   Benefits for

YOU and BABY

Regain the start of a fitness level

In pregnancy, the body experiences an accelerated pace of change and returning to fitness can be a slow process. These classes are simply an introduction back into fitness, working on stability and gentle toning. This will also help with posture and motivation.

Tones Important Muscle Groups

Yoga tones the pelvic floor, hip, and abdominal core muscles, beginning the repair from the birthing process. Building a properly toned muscle, with yoga poses like lunges and gentle backbends, can help minimise the aches and pains from those previous nine months.

Promotes a good 'grounding'

Even the act of going to a mum & baby class once (or more) each week is a gentle reminder to take the time out of a busy work and home life to care for and bond with your growing baby.

Provides Relief From Common Pregnancy Complaints

Prenatal yoga may be the cure for what ails you if you're suffering from common pregnancy discomforts such as lower back pain, nausea, insomnia, headaches, shortness of breath, and carpal tunnel syndrome. By stretching and toning muscles, you can help blood circulate throughout the body in a healthy way.

Encourages You to Make Friends With Like-Minded Mamas

One of the greatest benefits of classes may be joining a community with other mums. Sharing the journey with new friends can help ease your anxiety about motherhood.

Benefits for Baby

Along with the added benefit of dedicated time with you and socialising with other babies

  • encourage their reflexes to develop.

  • enhance their motor development.

  • increase their awareness of their surroundings.

  • calm and relax them, helping them to sleep better.
